Hauling an 18-ton Caterpillar ‘dozer tractor is no big deal for the pro’s at Jones Bros. Securing the tractor safely down onto the flatbed, he then used 4 chains with ratchet binders – one for each corner – before fixing the lowboy back onto the truck and getting back on the road. In-and-out, job complete in about 10 minutes. A smooth ride indeed – great work team!

Details of Jones Brothers 18-Ton Tractor Retrieval After Construction Equipment Towing Job

Jones Bros’ Construction Equipment Towing team was called out to retrieve an 18-ton bulldozer tractor from a construction site along the I-24 near Clarksville Tennessee. Receiving details of the tractor from the dispatcher, the Construction Equipment Towing Team decided that a lowboy trailer was needed, and prepared a tri-axle truck and lowboy ready to set out. The Construction Equipment Towing technician got into the lowboy and started the engine, with just a short 15-minute journey from Jones Brothers’ office to the construction site location. Arriving at the site one mile East of the I-24 intersection at Fort Campbell Boulevard, the Construction Equipment Towing technician pulled up alongside the bulldozer and put the truck into park. To onboard the tractor, the Construction Equipment Towing technician needed to first detach the lowboy trailer from the truck. With the lowboy detached, the Construction Equipment Towing technician could then bring out the extendable ramp from the back of the lowboy onto the road. Working as a team, the bulldozer operator drove the tractor smoothly up the lowboy ramp and onto the flatbed, as the Construction Equipment Towing technician from Jones Brothers kept the lowboy steady in park. Using two separate chains with ratchet binders, the Construction Equipment Towing technician fastened the front of the bulldozer onto the flatbed. With two more chains and ratchet binders, the Construction Equipment Towing technician then securely fastened the back of the bulldozer to the flatbed, ready to move off-site for another day.
