Heavy Tow Team Brings in 2 Wreckers to Clear Landscaping Disaster
The heavy tow team at Jones Bros. Towing & Trucking services were called to the scene of a landscaping disaster. A fully loaded trailer was unloading a shipment of lava rocks for a landscaping project when the unexpected happened. This particular trailer was designed to make life easier for the landscapers. Instead of them having to unload the rocks manually, the trailer was able to lift up and dump the rocks onto the ground.
Unfortunately, as they were unloading the lava rocks from the trailer, part of the rocks remained wedged on one side. This caused a major imbalance in the load and ultimately caused the trailer to tip over! This left the poor truck driver with an overturned trailer still full of lava rocks!
When working in the heavy duty towing industry, communication is key. The Jones Bros. dispatch team had given the heavy tow team a lengthy briefing about the incident. With this knowledge in mind, they were able to arrive at the customer’s location with all the equipment they would need to complete the job safely and efficiently. In this case, they knew it would be difficult to upright the trailer with the rocks still in it so they brought a mini excavator along with them!
Part of the heavy tow team began to unload the remaining rocks from the trailer as their colleagues cut the trailer away from the truck. With all the weight removed from the trailer, the heavy tow team was able to remove the lifting cylinder out of the nose of the trailer. From there they uprighted the trailer using a 50 ton wrecker and a 16 ton wrecker. The driver of the truck felt comfortable driving the trailer back to his own repair shop so the Jones Bros. team lifted the trailer, allowing him to back his tractor underneath the trailer.
Fantastic work out there team! You arrived at the job prepared and it showed! Keep it up!
